3. USER’S MANUAL / USE INSTRUCTIONS

Your watch is repairable.  It is recommended that the watch cover be opened by and any repair work should be carried out only by specialists-watchmakers.

The mechanical watch is a complex technical device, which requires careful handling. It will work trouble-free and keep high accuracy if you do the following:

    • wind the watch regularly - once a day (in the morning, for example) until full winding (except watches with automatic movement);
    • wear the watch with automatic movement for not less than 10 hours a day;
    • protect the watch from falling and causing sharp shocks to it;
    • clean, lubricate and adjust as well as check water resistance not less than once every two years after warranty is expired;

It is not recommended:

    • to open the case or remove its back cover: by that you protect your watch from unqualified service and ingress of dirt and dust into the watch movement;
    • to expose the watch to extreme temperatures;
    • to expose the watch to strong magnetic fields and chemical agents.

Average watch lifespan is 10 years if the watch is used correctly.

Accuracy of Mechanical Watches
Mean daily rate at temperature +20 + 5 0C ranges from –20 to +60 s/day depending on the movement type. If the accuracy rate is beyond the stated range, you can either take your timepiece to any qualified watchmaker to make a simple adjustment or apply to Poljotwach.com, where your watch will be adjusted free of charge during the warranty period. Please visit Customer Support for more information on your warranty and service options.

Watches with manual mechanical movement
Watches with mechanical hand-wound movements should be wound up daily. We recommend that you wind your watch every morning. Rotate the watch crown clockwise until it meets strong resistance. Do not apply great pressure once the crown met resistance or you will break the watch. Any manually wound Poljot and Aviator watches have from 35 to 42 hour power reserve after full winding.

Hands setting
In order to set the hands, the crow should be pulled out from the case to the fixed position and then rotated clockwise to set the correct time.

Watches with automatic mechanical movement
Mechanical watch with automatic movement of the mainspring do not require manual winding. Spontaneous movements of your hand make the rotor (oscillating weight) turn and thus wind the mainspring of the watch. Daily wearing routine is enough for automatic watch.  The watch will operate for a long time even if it is taken off the hand for periods of time (for a night, for example). However, if the watch will usually stop if it has not been worn for 38 hours. In order to make the watch go again, rotate the watch (or wear it) and set the correct time and date.

Time identification in the dark
Time can be easily read even in the full dark if marks denoting figures in the watch dial, as well as hour and minute hands are covered with fluorescent colors.
  We use special covering “Super Lyuminova” and “Lyuminova”, which are absolutely harmless for your health. These two types differ in fluorescence duration in the dark.

4.WATER RESISTANCE

Level of water resistance corresponds with the marking on the watch back cover.

  • the watch without any marking on the back cover (common design) should be protected from water drops;
  • “Water resistant” – you can wear the watch near a sink, however there should be no splashing of water under pressure onto the watch;
  • “Water resistant 3 ATM” – you can wear the watch in a light rain or subject to water splashes from a faucet.  Water can be splashed up onto a watch under small pressure;
  • “Water resistant 5 ATM” – you can water your garden and wash your car with water coming out of a hose with some pressure;
  • “Water resistant (10 ATM)” – you can swim and dive (but not from a tower ) and to swim under water without a scuba equipment.

Water resistant 5 and more atmospheres watch are as a rule equipped with screwed watch crowns. To set hands, wind up the watch, change the calendar setting or set a signal you should unscrew the screwed crown.

Never use 3 ATM / 5 ATM under heavy water. This includes swimming and showering. Only 10 ATM models with screwed crowns are waterproof. For more information, please review our Water Resistance Guide to find information for your specific watch.

Do not manipulate the watch winder underwater. Recommendation: check water impermeability of your watch once every two years in the service-center POLJOT.

5. CASE MATERIAL

Usage of different materials for watch cases allows to meet diverse needs of our customers. Case material is denoted by the fourth figure in the number of the watch model:

7- titanium;
1 -mirror polished steel;
3- sand blasted steel.

Plating:

6- gold plating;
9- plating with rose gold
1- chrome plating
1- PNP – palladium and nickel.

6. CRYSTAL

Out of wide variety of world suggested materials we deliberately chose sapphire and mineral crystal.

Sapphire crystal protects from scratches (9 degree of hardness) and remains clear and undistorted for years of heavy continuous usage. It is recommended for sport activities due to exceptional resistance and hardness of the crystal. However it can be broken if strongly stuck. Watches POLJOT equipped with sapphire crystal have corresponding marking on the back watch cover.

Mineral crystal also remains clear and undistorted for a long time and it is also shock-resistant; however, it is more subjected to scratches.

7. BANDS AND BRACELETS

We use leather, silk and synthetic bands as well as titanium and steel bracelets with our watches.

Leather Band
Genuine leather bands carry corresponding POLJOT or AVIATOR markings on the clasp and reverse side of the band.

POLJOT employs a wide selection of bands made of calf leather (with embossing imitating skin of different animals), ostrich leather as well as lizard and crocodile leather. To protect natural habitat, our genuine crocodile and lizard leather bands are NOT made of leather of rare reptile species.  Leather usually come from farms of developing countries.

Leather bands are not recommended for use by people with excessive sweating as well as by people, who stay in areas with excessive air moisture for a long time.

Steel Bracelets
POLJOT employs steel bracelets produced only out of first-rate stainless steel. They are very strong, lasting and meet all strict dermatological requirements according nickel allergy prevention. Two types of bracelets are produced: polished and glazed.

The consumer can adjust width of the bracelet himself by shifting a punch-type pin. Be careful with your eyes as the pin can suddenly spring out.

Several bracelet links can added or removed if needed. This procedure should be carried out in a specialized jewelry or watch shop.

Titanium bracelet
Light, strong, fashionable and beautiful bracelet made of titanium with polished insertions or gold-plated will become a perfect match to your watch. Besides, we comply with all requirements ensuring safety for the holder of the watch.

MOVEMENT DESCRIPTIONS

POLJOT watches  are assembled with FIRST ACCURACY CLASS movements.  In contrast, many other national  manufacturers produce watches of the second rate accuracy or class. This means that mean daily rate or the Poljot watch at temperatures +20 + 50 0C (if the watch is used correctly) ranges from –20 to + 60 seconds a day, where readings of the second hand are calibrated with ¼ second accuracy.

· Watch winding and current time setting

The watch, which has stopped due to unwinding of the spring, should first be winded manually by rotation of the watch crown for 15-20 turns. If the watch is worn n the wrist, it will wind up automatically.

To set the current time: a watch crown should be pulled out from the case to the extreme right fixed position and then rotated clockwise to set the right time. Then the watch crown should be returned to the initial position by pushing.

In order to set the time according to time signals, the watch crown should be pulled out at the moment when the second hand is at the figure "12" and the watch startup is launched according to the time signal.
